Katharina Maas

Katharina is a Berlin-based screenwriter working internationally across film, series, and audio formats. She studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York before training in screenwriting and film dramaturgy at the Script Academy Berlin. She also completed courses in creative writing at the Faber Academy and City Lit London, as well as journalism training at the Berlin School of Journalism.

She is an alumna of renowned international film labs including Sources 2, Torino, and EAVE, and a member of the German Screenwriters Guild (DDV). Katharina has developed multiple screenplays for short and feature films as well as serial audio projects.

Drawn to diverse genres and formats, she explores stories with a strong emotional core and an international perspective, with a particular focus on the female experience.

In addition to developing new screen projects, Katharina is currently writing her first novel and works as a script consultant and translator for international films and series. Her work has been supported by scholarships and grants and recognized through festival invitations and award nominations. She lives and works in Berlin.
